Zubeen Garg Death: Assam CM Orders Second Post-Mortem Amid Public Demand

A wave of both shock and relief is washing over fans of the popular singer Zubeen Garg. His passing led to widespread sadness. Now, there’s a new development in his story. Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced Monday that Zubeen’s body will undergo a second post-mortem. This unusual step comes after a strong request from the public.

Many people have been vocal, asking for more answers about the singer’s death. Their voices led to this decision. The second post-mortem procedure will happen on Tuesday at a hospital in Guwahati. This move shows how seriously the authorities are taking public concern.

Seeking Deeper Answers

Just a day earlier, on Sunday, the Chief Minister received Zubeen Garg’s death certificate. It came from the Singapore High Commission. The certificate clearly stated the cause of the singer’s death. Despite having this document, the CM had already promised Zubeen’s family a full investigation. He wanted to make sure they got all the facts.

Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister explained the situation (as reported by ANI). He pointed out that while the Singapore High Commission sent a death certificate, it is not the same as a detailed post-mortem report. The certificate mentioned drowning as the cause of death. However, he emphasized that a post-mortem report gives much more information. To clear things up, the documents will now go to the CID for review. Also, the Chief Secretary of the Assam government is actively talking with the Singapore Ambassador. They want to get the official post-mortem report as soon as possible.

The Tragic Day: What Happened to Zubeen

The music world lost Zubeen Garg on September 19. He was in Singapore at the time for the Northeast India Festival. The singer was enjoying some downtime and went scuba diving. During this activity, he suddenly found it hard to breathe. Festival organizers quickly issued a statement after his death. They confirmed that CPR was given to Zubeen right away. He was then rushed to Singapore General Hospital. Despite all efforts, doctors could not save him. His death left a deep sense of loss across Assam and the entire music community.
