We’re still a few weeks away from Taylor Swift’s twelfth studio album hitting shelves, but her close friend, actress Zoë Kravitz, has already given it her glowing seal of approval.
Kravitz, who is 36, spilled the beans during an interview with Extra that dropped on Sunday, August 17. She mentioned that she’s heard "snippets" of the new record, titled The Life of a Showgirl, which is set to arrive on October 3. Her verdict? It’s simply "fantastic, of course." She added the ultimate compliment: "No skips."
The interviewer was a bit surprised by the "no skips" comment, saying it’s "rare." Kravitz, sitting alongside Austin Butler while promoting their new film, Caught Stealing, quickly shot back, "For her, no." Clearly, she expects nothing less from her superstar pal.
Speaking of that new album, Swift, 35, recently pulled back the curtain on The Life of a Showgirl. She showed off the album cover, revealed details about limited-edition versions, and shared the full track list during a chat on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s "New Heights" podcast. Kelce, who is also 35, chimed in during the Wednesday, August 13, episode, calling the album nothing but "pure gems."
Swift shared that she crafted all this new music while traveling the world on her 21-month-long Eras Tour. This big reveal came after she had been dropping hints for a while. Fans caught on to a Spotify playlist packed with lyrical teasers and noticed a distinct orange color popping up everywhere on her social media and website.

Kravitz is one of the first of Swift’s inner circle to publicly confirm she’s heard the new tunes. Her comments to Extra came just days after she talked about Swift during a Tuesday, August 12, appearance on Late Night With Seth Myers.
During that late-night chat, Kravitz shared a story about Swift’s generosity. She explained how Swift let her and her mother, Lisa Bonet, stay at the singer’s Los Angeles home back in January. This was during a scary time when wildfires were raging across California.
This kind gesture from Swift led to a hilarious, unexpected twist. Bonet, 57, somehow managed to lose her pet snake, Orpheus, inside Swift’s home.

"I was cleaning, me downstairs and she upstairs, and my phone rings," Kravitz recounted to Myers. "It’s my mom. I’m thinking, ‘That’s weird, we’re in the same house.’ I answer and she says, ‘Hello,’ and I say, ‘Your voice sounds super high.’ And she says, ‘I’m in a little bit of a pickle. Can you come up?’ I went upstairs and the bathroom door was shut, so I opened it and she was crouched in the corner in a strange way."
Kravitz continued, "I asked her, ‘What’s wrong, mom?’ And she says, ‘Well… I was washing my face and I had Orpheus, I put her on the ground for a second, shut the door, and she found a small hole in the corner.’" The Blink Twice director noted that a house manager eventually told Swift about the missing snake. But not before the bathroom was "destroyed" by everyone trying to find it.
Kravitz and Swift’s friendship goes way back to 2016. That’s when they were first spotted having dinner together in New York City. Kravitz also raved about her friend during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in August 2024.
"After performing for thousands of people, she just comes over and we drink wine, eat a burger, and chat," Kravitz said at the time. "You’d never say she just played Wembley."
