The table is served for one more round in the historic confrontation between Dominicans and Boricuas.

Manny Machacho homered and a three-RBI single and Jean Segura capped a three-run seventh inning with an RBI double of Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz to give the Dominican Republic a 10-0 knockout victory over Israel on the day corresponding to Group D of the World Baseball Classic.

The victory served to mathematically classify Venezuela for the quarterfinals.

The second classified in the group will be the winner of the game on Wednesday starting at 7 between the Dominicans and Boricuas. Johnny Cueto is scheduled to start the match against Dominic Hamel for the Dominicans.

The Dominicans have linked consecutive victories against Nicaragua and Israel after losing in their debut against the Venezuelans.

In the match against Israel, finally, the power of the Dominican offense was revealed, with a total of 15 hits against seven Israeli pitchers.

Israel said goodbye to the contest receiving a pair of knockouts on consecutive nights, including a perfect game at the hands of Puerto Rico.

Eloy Jiménez drove in the first run with a single in the first inning after a double by Juan Soto and a walk to Rafael Dervers.

In the third inning, after one out, Machado hit his second home run of the game. Devers singled and Ketel Marte followed with an RBI double.

A double by Julio Rodríguez and a single by Machado each drove in two runs in a four-run sixth inning.

In the seventh, the Dominicans completed the knockout when they got a double by Jeremy Peña, singles by Robinson Canó and Nelson Cruz and the regular double by Jean Segura.

Roansy Contreras was the winning pitcher with a 2.2 innings in which he allowed one hit with four strikeouts.

Génesis Cabrera had 1.1 innings of two strikeouts, Luis Ortiz two innings with three strikeouts and Héctor Neris worked one inning with one strikeout.
