Zelenski establishes relations with Latin America to “represent Ukraine’s interests throughout the world”

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky announced this Friday Ukraine’s intention to increase its foreign policy ties with Latin American countries to represent the interests of his country. "all over the world"

"We are increasing Ukraine’s foreign policy ties with Latin America. I have held talks with the leaders of Argentina and Chile. Ukraine’s interests will be represented throughout the world"the Ukrainian president has expressed in his daily message to the people of Ukraine.

Specifically, Zelenski has discussed with the president of Chile, Gabriel Boric, the possibility of involving Chilean specialists in demining territories.

"Distance is not an obstacle for friendly countries. Delighted to establish contact with the newly elected president of Chile Gabriel Boric. Thank you for the support at the UN (…). We have discussed the possibility of involving Chilean specialists in demining territories"the Ukrainian president has detailed on his Twitter account.

For his part, Boric has expressed his solidarity with Ukraine and has been willing to support the condemnation of the Russian invasion in international organizations such as the United Nations.

"The 18 killed today in Odessa by Russian attack are unacceptable"added the Chilean president also on Twitter.

Zelenski, in turn, spoke with the Argentine president, Alberto Fernández, whom he also thanked for the humanitarian aid and the condemnation of "russian aggression"as well as support for the suspension of Russian membership in the UN Human Rights Council.

Latin America rejects the use of force and promotes dialogue to resolve conflicts"Fernández responded after the call with the Ukrainian president.

On the other hand, the President of Ukraine thanked the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, for expressing "clear support" to his country during his speech this Friday in the Ukrainian Parliament.
