Zayed Khan still gets thrilled when he talks about his role in the iconic film “Main Hoon Na”. The 2004 movie, which marked Farah Khan’s directorial debut, featured an ensemble cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Amrita Rao, and Suniel Shetty. In a recent interview, Zayed revealed that his character was initially offered to several big stars, including Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sohail Khan, but they all turned it down.
It was a surprise meeting with Shah Rukh Khan that changed Zayed’s fate. The actor had called Farah Khan to discuss a possible collaboration on a song’s choreography, and before he knew it, he was summoned to her office. As he arrived, he realized that the office was actually Shah Rukh’s, with the walls adorned with the superstar’s photos. Zayed was taken aback when Farah informed him that Shah Rukh wanted to meet him to discuss a potential role in his film. The meeting led to an impromptu audition, which Zayed nailed on the spot.
Recalling the moment, Zayed said he was overjoyed when Farah confirmed his casting just as she was about to leave in her car. In his excitement, he even hugged a tree. However, the real challenge began after he landed the role, as people around him started offering unsolicited advice and warning him about his screen time. Despite the pressure, Zayed remained focused and is grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Shah Rukh and Farah.
In the film, Zayed played a significant role alongside Shah Rukh, and his performance was well-received by critics and audiences alike. The movie’s success can be attributed to the cast’s chemistry and Farah’s direction, which made “Main Hoon Na” a memorable experience for Zayed and the rest of the team.
