Yuzvendra Chahal Abuses Nicholas Pooran After Dismissal in IPL Match

The stage was set at the Ekana Stadium on April 1 as the Lucknow Super Giants took on the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025. The home team batted first, putting up a decent total of 171 runs. However, their big-name batters like Rishabh Pant, Mitchell Marsh, and David Miller failed to make an impact.

Nicholas Pooran was the standout performer for Lucknow, scoring 44 runs off just 30 balls. He was looking to take his team to a big score, but Yuzvendra Chahal had other plans. In the 12th over, Pooran attempted a big shot off Chahal’s bowling, but the ball sailed into the air, and Glenn Maxwell took an easy catch to dismiss him.

What caught everyone’s attention, though, was Chahal’s reaction after the wicket. As the camera panned to him, he was seen giving Pooran a mouthful. It was a clear display of the competitive spirit that drives these players to perform at their best.

Chahal’s First Wicket for Punjab

This was Chahal’s first wicket for the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025. He had made his debut for the team against the Gujarat Titans but had gone wicketless in that match. However, against Lucknow, he made his mark by dismissing Pooran. This wicket was also Chahal’s first for Punjab in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Chahal is one of the most successful bowlers in IPL history, with over 200 wickets to his name. He has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals in the past, taking 139 and 66 wickets respectively. His experience and skill will be crucial for the Punjab Kings as they look to make a mark in the tournament.
