Yuvraj Harbhajan PCA Stadium: The first match of the three-match international T20 series between India and Australia is played at IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali. Before the start of this match, the Punjab Cricket Association dedicated two special stands of this stadium to two former great Indian cricketers. The Punjab Cricket Association officially named the famous Terrace Block of IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday after former India great Harbhajan Singh. At the same time, the north stand of the stadium was named after the former Indian all-rounder great Yuvraj Singh. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was also present at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium to honor and congratulate these Indian cricket legends on the occasion.

Yuvraj Singh gets emotional

Yuvraj attended on this occasion wearing a BCCI blazer. When asked about this blazer, she was thrilled. “It feels good to be back like this at PCA Stadium. This is my first time wearing a BCCI blazer in my stadium. It feels great to be called up by my old union.”

Honoring two legends of Indian cricket

Yuvraj and Harbhajan Singh, these two Indian cricketers have the distinction of becoming world champions not once but twice. Both legends were an important part of the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup squads. Yuvraj set a tremendous record at the 2007 T20 World Cup by hitting six straight sixes in six balls in an over from Stuart Broad. At the same time, he earned the title of Player of the Tournament for his all-round performance at the 2011 World Cup. Yuvraj played 40 tests, 304 one-day internationals and 58 T20 internationals for India in his international career and combined all three formats, scored 11,778 runs and took 148 wickets. He scored 17 centuries and 71 half centuries in his career.

Speaking of Harbhajan Singh, he played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs and 28 T20 Internationals in his career and took a total of 711 wickets in all these formats. Harbhajan is India’s fourth highest wicket-taker in Test cricket after Anil Kumble, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kapil Dev.

Mahesh Inder Singh, Bhupinder Singh (Sr.), Bharti Vij, Vikram Rathor and Harvinder Singh were also honored for their contribution to Punjab and Indian cricket on this special occasion.
