The Venezuelan Yulimar Rojas, current Olympic and world triple jump champion, did not disappoint and in her first contest of the outdoor course she rose to the first place in the world ranking of the year, signing this Sunday a best attempt of 14.96 meters in Madrid. Rojas, universal record holder of the test with 15.74 meters, exceeded by twelve centimeters the best world mark of the course so far, the 14.84 meters achieved by the Cuban Leyanis Pérez on May 28 in Rabat.
After signing null in her first two jumps, the Venezuelan triple jumper went up to 14.96 meters on her third attempt. A mark that Yulimar Rojas, 27, could not surpass in his next three attempts, after returning to sign a null in his fourth and fifth jumps and settling for a mark of 12.25 meters in his sixth and last attempt. Just two valid jumps that served the Venezuelan, who is training in Guadalajara under the command of Cuban Iván Pedroso, to win the triple jump event of the Spanish Club Championship that takes place at the Vallehermoso stadium in Madrid.
