The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has formally charged popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav and singer Rahul Yadav, known professionally as Fazilpuria. This action comes as part of an ongoing money laundering investigation.
The charge sheet was filed with a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in Gurugram, India. The document also names two other individuals implicated in the case.
The core of the investigation revolves around alleged wildlife offenses. Authorities claim the accused were involved in activities related to snakes and other reptiles, leading to the money laundering allegations.
The court has acknowledged the charge sheet and is expected to issue summons for the accused soon. This will facilitate further legal proceedings in the case.
During its probe, the ED unearthed financial transactions linked to the accused. Singer Fazilpuria’s song titled “32 Bore” reportedly generated approximately $62,350 USD (5.2 million Indian Rupees).
A substantial portion of these earnings, approximately $59,950 USD (5 million Indian Rupees), was allegedly used by Fazilpuria to acquire a three-acre parcel of land in Bijnor. This property has since been seized by the authorities as part of the investigation.
Furthermore, the ED has frozen roughly $3,600 USD (300,000 Indian Rupees) from bank accounts held by Elvish Yadav and Fazilpuria. An additional $2,400 USD (200,000 Indian Rupees) was seized from an account belonging to Sky Digital company.
The ongoing investigation continues to focus on the alleged use of snakes during various song productions, which is a key aspect of the reported wildlife crime.
