YouTube Music with new community playlist functionality

Soon, YouTube will make playlists generated by its own community available on the home page.

The new feature is called “From the Community” and will only include platform approved playlists.

The new “From Community” feature is based on user history.

YouTube Music users will soon have access to a new form of playlists. All thanks to the From the Community functionality that suggests the reproduction of playlists, generated by the platform’s own community.

Suggestions will appear on the platform’s home page, near where new releases are presented, and will be based on the user’s own browsing history. All submitted playlists are pre-approved by YouTube.

With the new functionality, YouTube wants to highlight the generated and suggested content within its community, hence the reason why all the suggestions are presented on the home page in a prominent place.

For now, the feature is only available for testing, but Google has already said that it will reach many more users soon.

YouTube blocks content creators who deny climate change

But the video platform isn’t just rolling out new features for its community. At the same time, you are also taking a number of steps to prevent misinformation from spreading to your users.

We are talking about the fact that YouTube is preventing content creators from making money from videos that deny the scientific evidence about the existence and causes of climate change.

In this sense, all the videos that enter this category cannot contain ads or be monetized. In advertising, not all ads promoting climate change misinformation will run.

These new rules are part of a broader set of measures that YouTube is implementing against all kinds of misinformation, such as the removal of more than 130,000 videos that did not respect the platform’s policies on vaccines against Covid -19.
