YouTube bans all anti-vaccination content

Youtube will block all anti-vaccine content, going beyond the ban on false information about COVID vaccines.

Now the company too prohibit content that contains inaccurate information about other approved vaccines, as reported on wednesday in a blog post.

Examples of content that will not be allowed on YouTube include claims that the flu vaccine causes infertility and that the MMR vaccine, which protects against measles, mumps and rubella, can cause autism, in accordance with YouTube policies.

Youtube too is banning channels associated with several prominent anti-vaccine activists, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Joseph Mercola, said a YouTube spokesperson.

The moves follow criticism from YouTube and other tech giants such as Facebook and Twitter for not doing enough to stop the spread of false health information on their websites.

On Tuesday, Russian state broadcaster RT’s German-language channels were removed from YouTube because the company said the channels violated its COVID-19 disinformation policy. On Wednesday, Russia called the move an “unprecedented informational attack” and threatened to block YouTube.
