In the second session after lunch on the second day, Yashasvi managed to complete a century in his debut Test. Jaiswal faced 215 balls to complete his century and also hit 11 fours.

Yashasvi is the third Indian player to score a century on his Test debut in Test cricket. Before him, Shikhar Dhawan did this feat against Australia in the year 2013 and then Prithvi Shaw did this feat against West Indies in the year 2018.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has also become the fourth youngest Indian player to score a century on his debut Test. Prithvi Shaw ranks first on this list with the age of 18 years 329 days. On the other hand, Abbas Ali Baig and Gundappa Vishwanath rank third. Yashasvi completed her first Test century at the age of 21 years and 196 days. At the same time, he is the third player after Rohit Sharma and Prithvi Shaw to score a century against the West Indies in the debut Test. Yashasvi Jaiswal is also the 17th player to score a debut Test century for India.
