The New York Yankees got the starter they were looking for, reaching an agreement with the Athletics to get the Dominican Francelis "franky" Montas and closer Lou Trivino, sources told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.
The teams have not confirmed the news.
In exchange for Montas and Trivino, the A’s will receive the Yankees’ top pitching prospect, Ken Waldichuk, according to MLB Pipeline, and three other prospects, according to a Feinsand source. The other pieces moving to Oakland are right-hander Luis Medina (No. 10 NY), left-hander JP Sears (No. 20) and second baseman Cooper Bowman (No. 21).
