Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPENG has unveiled its latest G9 SUV and G6 SUV Coupé, touting industry-leading ultra-fast charging capabilities and a commitment to sustainable battery technology.
Both new models utilize an advanced 800-volt Silicon Carbide (SiC) integral platform across all versions, a key feature in their rapid charging performance.
This architecture enables a charge from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes for both vehicles.
The flagship G9 SUV employs 5C Supercharging technology, achieving a maximum power output of 525 kilowatts. Its battery options include 79 kWh or 93.1 kWh capacities, providing a combined WLTP range of up to 363 miles (585 km).
The G6 SUV Coupé also reaches a 10-80% charge in 12 minutes, with a maximum power of 451 kilowatts.
XPENG highlights the G6’s lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, noting it is free of rare minerals like cobalt, manganese, and nickel, presenting a more sustainable power solution. The G6’s 80.8 kWh battery offers a combined WLTP range of up to 332 miles (535 km).
Beyond charging speed, the new models feature advanced technology and sophisticated design. The G9 SUV, measuring 4,891 mm in length, offers a luxurious interior with 95% soft-touch surfaces.
Its cabin can include a Premium Seat & Audio Pack, offering a 10-point Shiatsu massage system and genuine Nappa leather seats. Infotainment is managed through two 14.96-inch entertainment screens, supported by the Hey XPENG Voice Assistant and XPILOT 2.5 driver assistance.
The G6 SUV Coupé, at 4,758 mm long, introduces a “Super Star-Ring” interior concept. It features an ultra-HD 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, all part of the Xmart OS. The G6 also prioritizes comfort with heated, ventilated, and massage front seats, and aims for a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
Both vehicles are available in a special Black Edition, enhancing their sporty aesthetic with black exterior finishes and darkened rims.
The XPENG G9 is available for immediate delivery in some European markets, with prices starting from approximately $54,800 (50,800 euros plus VAT).
The XPENG G6 is projected to arrive in early December 2025, starting at around $41,000 (37,950 euros plus VAT).
