THE xiaomi is preparing to start one of the most important performances in its history. At stake is (much) more than the presentation of smartphones Xiaomi 12Sfocusing mainly on the new collaboration with the legendary German camera manufacturer, Leica.
With that in mind, we will have a mobile phone dedicated mainly to photography that, it seems, should also make its debut, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. In addition, we will have two other high-end Android smartphones, the Xiaomi 12S (base model) and the Xiaomi 12S Pro to renew the current Xiaomi 12 presented on December 28, 2021 in China.
July starts hot with the new Xiaomi 12S smartphones
The presentation takes place in its home country, China, and will start at 19:00 local time (Beijing), 12:00 Lisbon time. We will be able to follow the broadcast live from the social networks of the brand led by Lei Jun. Therefore, we will have the possibility of seeing this event through YouTube, or through the manufacturer’s Twitter profile with the stream Live.
Three new Android smartphones in the Xiaomi 12S range
Integrating the “magic” of Leica, Xiaomi’s new phones will take advantage of the new partnership between the manufacturers. The best of all? According to the teaser of the brand we will have optics developed by Leica itself. In other words, the optical elements that condition and capture the light will already reflect the collaboration between the companies.
Note, however, that the main photographic assets should be reserved for the Xiaomi 12S Ultra model, the flagship Properly said. This will be the only one to use Sony’s new 1-inch sensor, the Sony IMX989. It should be noted that this component will be crucial in elevating the photographic experience in mobilefinally surpassing the compact machines.
The one-inch sensor will define the image quality in Xiaomi 12S Ultra
It should be noted that the size of the sensor is the crucial factor for image quality, (much) more than the resolution of the sensor itself (in MP). Added to this is the role of the optics (lenses that make up the objective), as well as the image processor, commonly known as ISP (Image signal processor). It is this triad that most influences the creation of a good image.
For this trio of phones we have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen+ processor, the best SoC currently available for Android smartphones. In addition, we will have a host of high-end specifications, from LTPO AMOLED screens to high-power (fast) charging.
In short, we are facing one of Xiaomi’s biggest bets in the mobile market, a clear bet in the segment premium who wants to definitively place the brand among the “big ones”. Now, it remains to wait and then determine the true merit of these products.
