Xiaomi just unveiled its largest and most powerful tablet yet – the Pad 7 Ultra. This beast of a device comes with a massive 14-inch OLED display, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and is powered by the company’s own XRING O1 chipset.
The Pad 7 Ultra’s display is a significant upgrade from its predecessors, the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro, which used LCD panels. The new OLED screen boasts a resolution of 3200 x 2136 pixels, supports 12-bit color, and features HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It also has a refresh rate of 120Hz, a peak brightness of 1600 nits, and uses DC + PWM dimming to reduce eye strain.
The tablet’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and features a nano-texture coating to reduce reflections. The front camera has a 32-megapixel sensor, while the rear camera has a 50-megapixel sensor.
Under the hood, the Pad 7 Ultra is powered by the XRING O1 chipset, which is built on a 3nm process and features a 10-core CPU with a prime core clocked at 3.7GHz. The chip is paired with an ARM Immortalis-G925 GPU and an NPU that supports AI processing at up to 44 TOPS.
The tablet comes in three storage variants: 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB. It runs on HyperOS 2 and features a large 12,000mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging.
In terms of connectivity, the Pad 7 Ultra has a USB-C port, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an infrared blaster, and eight speakers that support Dolby Atmos. The tablet is made of aluminum alloy and is just 5.1mm thick, weighing in at 609 grams.
Other features include a fingerprint sensor in the power button, support for a stylus that can be charged wirelessly, and a keyboard with a magnesium alloy body and a touchpad that supports force touch.
The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra is available for pre-order in China, with prices starting at 5,700 yuan (approximately $830) for the base model.
