Xiaomi: these are the 7 smartphone models to forget

THE xiaomi is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world. In Portugal, the technology company led by Lei Jun ranks third, according to the latest IDC data, only behind apple Y samsung🇧🇷 It is, therefore, a phenomenon and an undeniable success in the Portuguese market and in the rest of the world.

However, with a huge catalog of products, from the most varied smartphones, to the various IoT gadgets and products for the home, it is inevitable that some of your equipment is not as good as you might expect.

Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO, which are the best Android smartphones?

Xiaomi Redmi POCO Smartphones

Looking at the various models that make up the Xiaomi Redmi and Xiaomi Mi (more recently just Xiaomi) ranges, we have dozens of devices launched in the last four years. By the way, we can also mention its POCO sub-brand, among other “arms” of the Chinese brand with a strong presence in Portugal.

In any case, Xiaomi has grown as a cost/benefit manufacturer, thus standing out in the quality/price ratio of its mobiles. However, this focus on low prices meant that some precautions were ignored, resulting in imperfect products.

Xiaomi also had its share of growing pains.

That being said, among all these brands, some of the models weren’t as well received as one might expect.

On the other hand, some mobile phone models brought various problems to users with multiple motivations and causes, namely:

  • Rushed releases, without all the (necessary) quality testing (Q&A)
  • The product has not been subjected to the ideal Quality Control
  • Shipping, or shipping, that would eventually experience mishaps
  • Hasty software, product that reaches the consumer with imperfections to detect

Several of these factors, alone or in combination, ended up leaving a bitter taste for us, as well as for users who bought some of the worst Xiaomi smartphones.

In particular, one flaw that ruined the experience of using several recent smartphones was the problems with AMOLED screens. More specifically, the image retention effect (ghost screen) and effect Burned🇧🇷

We evoke here the infamous screens AMOLED gives tianma, used in the most accessible models of the brand, such as the Redmi Note. Reports noted, with disturbing frequency, horrifying glitches in these displays. In fact, just do a search through the XDA Developers portal, with both keywords.

Technical failures and dubious components condemned these Xiaomi smartphones

  1. redmi note 8
  2. redmi note 7
  3. redmi note 5
  4. My A2 (6X)
  5. redmi note 9t
  6. redmi note 9 pro
  7. redmi note 9s

It is important to note that many of these models were successful in the market, even with the errors or failures in the tests here. This proves that not all units or batches were equally affected. However, these will be the least reliable models of the brand.

The durability of the product presupposes, as is easily understood, the proper functioning of the components that compose it, in such a way that “weaker” components compromised the durability of the product.

Xiaomi has learned from mistakes, deserving a vote of confidence

The mishaps that Xiaomi has faced in recent years, as well as public scrutiny, serve as a basis and a lesson for the brand to reinforce key aspects of its production lines.

Thus, we have seen, in recent years, a gradual improvement in the build quality of its smartphones, even the cheapest ones, plus fewer complaints from users.

In short, Xiaomi shows that it has learned from the mistakes of the past and, fortunately, improves with each new generation of products, the user experience it delivers to users.
