Xiaomi finally presented the long-awaited Mi MIX 4. The smartphone stands out as the manufacturer’s first with an under-screen camera, although this is already the third generation developed by the technology brand.
As expected, doubts immediately arose about the quality of the front camera of the Mi MIX 4. The first photos taken with it were not impressive, and the vice president of Xiaomi has already made it public to clarify that the Mi MIX 4 is not a smartphone for selfies.
If selfies are a priority, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is not for you
Lu Weibing stated, in a post on the Weibo social network, that the Mi MIX 4 is for those who put the “screen first”. The executive warns that “if you are particularly concerned about selfies, it is better to buy a smartphone with a hole in the screen.”
However, this does not stop recognizing that there is an audience for which selfies are not essential. “If you don’t prioritize selfies and want a full-screen experience, the Mi MIX 4 is recommended,” he concludes.
The executive says that, if the area of the camera were very visible, it would not be worth betting on this technology. And now that the process has started, the challenge is to keep improving and developing the concept.
Recall that the ZTE Axon 20 5G was the first smartphone to reach global markets with a front camera at the bottom of the screen. However, the quality of his selfies was rather dubious and the team turned out to be a fiasco.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will not be officially launched in global markets. This means that if you want to have Xiaomi’s first smartphone with an under-screen camera, you will have to import it from China.
