Xiaomi reveals how the Xiaomi 12 is better thanks to CyberDog

Do you remember Xiaomi CyberDog? This unusual product was unveiled by Xiaomi during 2021, and it seems to have helped improve the recently unveiled Xiaomi 12 flagship smartphone.

In a post on the Weibo social network, Xiaomi reveals that the Xiaomi 12 inherited the “CyberFocus” autofocus technology in its cameras, started by CyberDog.

Xiaomi’s vice president, Zeng Xuezhong, was in charge of revealing this story through the social network. The executive claims that Xiaomi “surveyed its user base and the camera’s most common complaint is that its cameras could not focus properly, despite trying to focus many times,” the statement read.

CyberDog’s CyberFocus technology present in the Xiaomi 12 cameras

“From rainbows to sunsets to children moving in front of the lens, these scenes are difficult to capture and focus. So here at Xiaomi we thought about our CyberDog ‘autofocus technology’ called CyberFocus and decided to implement it in the main cameras of our Xiaomi 12 ”, he confirms.

What we can hope is that this new focus technology present in the Xiaomi 12 is a step forward. So we don’t expect what we want to be focused, to have problems in that sense. The example of this is given in the promotional video of the functionality that we shared above.

This technology seems to differentiate itself in the basics of conventional autofocus. This is because it can recognize the various parts of an object (be it a person, a cat, or a dog) so that it is always in focus, even if it leaves the scene and returns.
