Xiaomi has just announced its latest affordable smartphone. At stake is the brand new Redmi 12, a model aimed at the entry segment where users seek the best possible quality/price ratio.
The presentation of the Redmi 12 took place discreetly in Thailand, we do not yet know when it will be released in Europe. Still, we now know all the details of this new budget Android smartphone.
Xiaomi Redmi 12 is a modest but quite attractive smartphone
The new Redmi 12 follows the design line of its peers, with straight sides and good use of its front space. Even so, its market entry position is denoted by the thicker bottom edge of its screen.
Since we are talking about its screen, the Redmi 12 comes with a 6.79-inch LCD panel. This has a Full-HD + resolution and an image refresh rate of 90 Hz.
Inside is the MediaTek Helio G88 processor. This SoC comes with 4 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.
In the photographic section, the Redmi 12 has a triple configuration with a 50 MP main sensor, an 8 MP wide angle and a 2 MP macro. On the front is an 8 MP camera, housed in a small hole in the center of the screen.
The Xiaomi Redmi 12 has a generous 5000 mAh battery with 18 W charging. It is also worth noting the presence of a fingerprint sensor on the side and the IP53 certification that gives the smartphone protection against splashing water.
This smartphone will be available in Midnight Black, Sky Blue and Polar Silver colors. In Thailand, the Redmi 12 is available for purchase starting at the equivalent of €139, but everything indicates that it will arrive in Europe for €199.
