Xiaomi just unveiled its latest gadget for serious users: the Pad 7S Pro. This isn’t just another tablet. It’s the first one from the Chinese tech giant to run on their very own XRING O1 chip. This move shows Xiaomi is getting serious about making its own core technology.
Xiaomi first showed off the XRING O1 in May 2025. It came alongside their 15S Pro smartphone. This chip is built using TSMC’s second-gen 3-nanometer process, called N3E. It packs ten CPU cores, ready to hit speeds up to 3.9 GHz.
The Pad 7S Pro sports a bigger 12.5-inch screen. Xiaomi says this size is easier to carry than 14-inch models. Yet it gives more room to work than 11-inch screens. The display has a 3:2 ratio. It also boasts a 144 Hz refresh rate. This means super smooth visuals, great for videos or scrolling.
This new tablet is quite slim, measuring just 5.8 mm thick. That’s thinner than the older Pad 7 Pro, which was 6.2 mm. It weighs 576 grams, a bit heavier, but that makes sense with a bigger screen. Xiaomi also boosted the battery. The Pad 7S Pro now has a big 10,610 mAh battery. Plus, it charges incredibly fast at 120W. That’s a huge jump from the last model’s 8,850 mAh battery and 67W charging.
Xiaomi really wants the Pad 7S Pro to be a workhorse. They offer an optional keyboard. This accessory attaches to the back. It helps the tablet feel more like a desktop computer or laptop. The tablet also comes with new software. This includes an updated WPS Office. You also get ZWCAD, which is engineering design software. It works with common DWG files. And there’s CAJViewer for converting different file types.
The Pad 7S Pro makes it easy to connect with other devices. You can mirror your tablet screen to a PC without wires. It’s super quick, with only a 41-millisecond delay. You can also share your computer’s keyboard and mouse. This makes moving files between devices simple. It works well with both Windows and Mac computers.
To make movies and games sound great, the Pad 7S Pro features six speakers. It also supports Dolby Atmos sound. This offers a truly immersive audio experience.
By the way, Xiaomi didn’t just launch this tablet. They also showed off a new foldable phone, the MIX Flip 2. A smaller 41mm Watch S4 smartwatch also made its debut. And they even revealed some new AI Glasses.
For now, the Pad 7S Pro is only available in China. Here’s a look at the different versions and their prices:

- 12 GB + 256 GB: 3,600 yuan
- 12 GB + 512 GB: 3,900 yuan
- 16 GB + 512 GB: 4,100 yuan

- Optional Keyboard: 1,000 yuan
Xiaomi hasn’t said yet when the Pad 7S Pro will be sold in other countries.
