Xiaomi MIX 4: disassembled, smartphone reveals wireless charging up to 100W

As shown by the videos posted on Weibo of Lou Bin and Geekbar Zhang Lei, who dismantled the smartphone, MIX 4 would be much more powerful than Xiaomi suggests. In fact, after removing the device’s ceramic casing with a hot air gun, the two testers were pleasantly surprised.

According to them, the Xiaomi MIX 4 would be able to charge wirelessly at a power of 100 W, while Xiaomi officially mentioned only a maximum power of 50W during the smartphone presentation, which took place yesterday afternoon.

Xiaomi has officially declared that the 4500 mAh battery of the MIX 4 was compatible with ultra-fast 120W wired charging, which allowsreach 100% battery in just 15 minutes using boost mode, which can warm up your smartphone or in 21 minutes if you choose to keep it cool.

The smartphone also supports 50W wireless charging. This allows the MIX 4’s battery to be fully recharged in just 28 minutes in Boost mode and 45 minutes in normal mode. However, a secret 100W mode would also be available, but not for everyone.

In fact, the smartphone would require a special charger from Xiaomi, an improved version of the Mi 80W Wireless Charging Stand available in France at a price of 149 euros. Xiaomi can only mention a power of 50 W during its conference because wireless charging regulations will soon change in China.

Indeed, As of January 1, 2022, wireless chargers cannot exceed 50 watts.. The new law will apply to devices produced, imported or used in China. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, which offers wireless charging at 67W, may officially remain the most powerful in this area for a few years.
