Xiaomi finalizes the preparations for the launch of the global version of MIUI 13. The official launch should take place at the end of this week, but some models are already testing it, as we have already made known.
It was through this testing phase that a sad reality for Western users was discovered. The version of MIUI 13 that will be available outside of China will have fewer features than the domestic version of Xiaomi’s interface.
MIUI 13 continues to sacrifice functionality in global markets
Unfortunately, this maneuver of making less resources available in the global version of MIUI is nothing new. Xiaomi did something similar in previous versions of its software and it is now clear that the new version will not change that paradigm.
The MIUIes team advances the confirmations and they immediately notice the absence of the widget store introduced in MIUI 13. This means that European users will not have access to the same variety of widgets as Chinese users.
Another absence has to do with the renewed control center that the new version of MIUI has imposed. However, all is not lost yet, as this novelty should be extended to the global version with future interface updates.
Then there is the absence of Mi Smart Hub functionality. It is a new smart gadget aggregation panel that will facilitate the management of these products directly on the smartphone. Note also the non-implementation of the Mi Sans font.
MIUI 13 Global brings more privacy and better performance
Not everything is bad news with the global launch of MIUI 13. This version does not forget some of the new features that Xiaomi has introduced to improve the performance of the equipment and the privacy of the users.
In fact, we have the introduction of more details about the permissions used by the applications, a new sidebar and the new mode of use with one hand. For those who love customization, we have new wallpapers.
Devices that will receive MIUI 13 running Android 12 will have new indicators present in the taskbar. These will let you easily know when the camera, microphone or GPS is being used.
Supported by the Material You design philosophy of Android 12, there will be a greater symbiosis between the applications and the background image of the smartphone. These are dynamic colors that will be based on the dominant color of your wallpaper.
