Xiaomi’s next big top of the range will be the Mi 12, whose presentation should take place before the end of 2021. It will be one of the first smartphones on the market with the Snapdragon 898 and its camera promises to be interesting.
According to the well-known Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is preparing news for the Mi 12 camera. Apparently, it will be composed of three 50 MP sensors.
Xiaomi Mi 12 will bring three 50 MP with a 5x optical zoom
Remember that the Xiaomi Mi 11 was presented with a 108 MP main lens. For next year, it is speculated that the Chinese will adopt a 200 MP sensor, however it should be reserved for the Mi 12 Ultra.
For the base version, the Xiaomi Mi 12, the Chinese technology company will use a trio of sensors with a resolution of 50 MP. Not only for the main camera, but also for wide angle and periscope lenses.
The last one will be one of the great novelties of the Xiaomi Mi 12. Thanks to its 50 MP periscope sensor, this smartphone will provide its users with a lossless optical zoom of up to 5 times.
Xiaomi studied the approach barrier 10 times, but everything indicates that it will not tackle the Mi 12. As Digital Chat Station says, the brand faced an impractical focal length, forcing it to settle for 5x.
Perhaps that is why Xiaomi will adopt a 50 MP sensor for this lens. With a higher resolution on the sensor, the Mi 12 will be able to provide a quality zoom between 5x and 10x.
The presentation of Mi 12 can happen much earlier than usual
In 2020, Xiaomi set a new precedent with the introduction of the Mi 11 on December 28. That was supposed to be the brand’s first top-of-the-line for 2021, it was announced even before that year began.
It did so with the intention of being the first smartphone to use the new Snapdragon 888. This objective was met and it is possible that its successor (Xiaomi Mi 12) will arrive even earlier.
There are those who believe that the presentation of the Xiaomi Mi 12 could take place from next November. It would be an even more surprising date than the one practiced for Mi 11, but nothing is confirmed yet.
