Xiaomi Mi 12 may have an ‘explosive’ camera combination

Working together with Samsung, Xiaomi has accustomed its followers to taking a qualitative leap in the photographic quality of its latest top of the range. And it seems that it is preparing for a new giant step in 2022.

Earlier this September, Samsung introduced the ISOCELL HP1, its new 200MP mobile sensor. As reported on the Gizmochina website, the South Korean manufacturer claims to have started shipping this sensor to other manufacturers, without revealing names. An information leak shows that one of them will be Xiaomi.

Xiaomi Mi 12 may come with 200MP and 50MP cameras

the reputed filter Digital Chat Station states, in a post on the Weibo social network, that Xiaomi’s next top of the range will have two main cameras: one with 200MP and the other with 50MP. Everything indicates that you are talking about the Xiaomi Mi 12, or its most powerful variants.

Remember that Xiaomi has done it by being the first to launch smartphones with striking numbers on the cameras. So it was with Samsung’s 108MP sensor, which first came to the Mi CC9 Pro in China and would be called the Mi Note 10 globally.

This post also claims that Xiaomi will not abandon the current 108 and 64 megapixel sensors. The source says they will continue to be used in mid-range and upper-mid-range models.

It is always good to remember that the number of megapixels is not everything. A photo taken with such a sensor will have higher resolution, but it will not necessarily be of higher quality. If they can surpass what was done in the previous generation is what we will see in the coming months.
