The second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world has just introduced the Mi MIX 4, a high-end smartphone that introduced the concept of an on-screen camera to Xiaomi’s portfolio. At the same time, the expectations of the Xiaomi Mi 12, the next range of high-end smartphones to be presented by the manufacturer led by Lei Jun.
This range of smartphones should bring substantial improvements in terms of performance, screen, camera, and build quality. Your arrival date, taking the current Wed 11 as an example, would be the end of December 2021, but this year it may surprise us. Indeed, Mi 11 itself, released on December 28, set a new precedent.
Could Xiaomi Mi 12 be presented in November 2022?
While the current Mi 11 was presented at the end of December 2020, the next Xiaomi Mi 12 could be presented even earlier. More specifically, in November, it will then hit the market with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 898 SoC.
This is the latest speculation alluding to the next generation of high-end Xiaomi smartphones. For the Xiaomi Mi 12, in fact, we have several models, similar to what happened in 2021, with the base version being the first revelation.
Taking into account the above, presentation of the Mi 12 in November, we remember the recent statement by Lei Jun, the CEO of the company, indicating that the MIUI 13 would only arrive at the end of the year. Therefore, the Xiaomi Mi 12 would be temporarily deprived of this version of the user interface.
MIUI 13 comes to the end of the year, says Lei Jun
With MIUI 13 coming to the end of the year, if the Xiaomi Mi 12 is presented in November, it will have to adopt MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Version as the latest version available. Later, however, it would be among the first smartphones to be updated.
It should be noted that the reports on the Xiaomi Mi 12 generation are still early. However, there are some product certifications and new Xiaomi smartphones that seem to point in this direction, but for now there is little information available.
Still, reports point to a new range of smartphones to be certified with the new SM8450, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon model number 898, still in development. Keep in mind that this will be the next generation SoC.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 898 will power various Xiaomi smartphones
The Qualcomm processor will have a design driven by three groups of processors – 3 bunches. First of all, it will have a “super core” with a maximum processing frequency of 3.09 Ghz for the most demanding tasks such as games.
Second you will have a large core group with a maximum frequency of 2.4Ghz for normal tasks. Finally, you will have a more efficient group of cores with a processing frequency of 1.8 Ghz for less demanding tasks.
It is also important to note that the new core with a maximum frequency of 3.09 Ghz will follow a new generation of Cortex-X2. These cores, as well as the new SoC, have already achieved an AnTuTu score of over a million. He would be the first to do such a feat.
The Xiaomi Mi 12 will be considerably better than the Mi 11

In addition to the new processor, the Xiaomi Mi 12 generation should feature an even faster charging pattern. In fact, the information leaks point to support for charging up to 120W via cable and 100W via wireless charging.
For China, however, due to new legal impositions, the Xiaomi Mi 12 will be limited to charging at 50 W. On the other hand, without these restrictions being applied in Europe, in Portugal we can benefit from such charging speeds.
Xiaomi is also expected to improve the already excellent display of the Mi 11. Therefore, we have an LTPO AMOLED panel to be present in the Xiaomi Mi 12 with variable refresh rate between 1-120 Hz.
Finally, we emphasize again that this information is still very early. As such, we consider this hypothesis, the presentation of the Xiaomi Mi 12 in November, as unlikely until evidence emerges in this regard.
