Xiaomi launched the strangest smart lamp you’ll see today

This Tuesday we get to know the Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 smartband or the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro tablet. But Xiaomi still had time to present a totally unexpected Smart Home product.

We are talking about the Mijia Pipi Lamp smart lamp. At first glance it looks more like a desk lamp with a minimalist design. But this one has an emotional system that can be stimulated by you.

As we can see in the presentation video, this is the type of lamp that you can ‘coffee’ if you wish. And different external stimuli will lead to different reactions of the lamp and its lighting.

Xiaomi Mijia Pipi Lamp is a smart lamp with various moods

The brand affirms that we have three dimensions: pleasure, activation and mastery. And with the built-in AI camera, the lamp has a hand detection algorithm to provide special low-latency gesture interaction.

With just gestures, users can turn the lamp on or off, but also adjust the brightness or angle of illumination. But as we can see in the presentation video, the lamp can also adjust the angle of light, depending on your position.

As it was only launched in China on Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform, this Pipi lamp can be linked to Xiaomi’s Mijia app. That’s where users can view the mood of the lamp and make adjustments. It would be interesting to see the product reach global markets with support for Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

For now, the Xiaomi Mijia Pipi Amp is available for purchase only in China, through the Youpin crowdfunding platform, for 499 yuan (approximately 66 euros).
