Xiaomi launched in 2020 its “magic box” Mi Box with support for 4K resolution, a popular, competent and very affordable solution to turn any TV into a Smart TV. Now, after about two years, we have confirmation of the Xiaomi Box 4K (2nd generation).
At stake is the second generation Mi Box 4K with enhanced features, but with the same Ultra-HD or 4K resolution. More specifically, we have the Xiaomi Box 4K (2nd gen) certification record with the US regulatory body, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The FCC certification signals not only the existence of this Xiaomi product, but also the Chinese manufacturer’s intentions to make it available worldwide. More specifically, we have a new Xiaomi device with the model number MDZ-28-AA.
This information was also advanced by the publication googlechromecast based on Certification issued by the aforementioned US agency, the FCC. Then we can see one of the pages of the record in question.
In view of the above, we can see that the Xiaomi Box 4K (2nd gen) will look very similar to the current Mi Box 4K, with a quadrangular format. It will have slightly rounded edges and a prismatic shape, with a reduced profile, again, the same as the current one.
Also, this format for the product is not very different from the latest Apple TV 4K, as well as the respective remote control. Therefore, the main changes and improvements will be within the product itself.
More connectivity and control options in Xiaomi Box 4K (2nd gen)
Currently available, in Portugal, in Xiaomi stores Shop from €69.99, this product has built-in Chromecast, in addition to the Android TV platform. We also have a remote control with a shortcut key to Google Assistant and its microphone.
Wi-Fi 802.11a, Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), 802.11b, 802.11g, Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n), Bluetooth 4.2, and HDMI 2.0 connectivity options should now be enhanced with the latest standards. Additionally, the internal specs should also see improvements with more internal memory and a snappier processor.

Therefore, and although the 4K resolution should not change in the Xiaomi Box 4K (2nd gen), there is room for improvement in the next generation. At the moment, however, no further details about the product are known.
Finally, the new product should arrive with various accessories in the box, from the remote control, a 5W power adapter (5V – 1A), in addition to the respective batteries and quick start guides in the box.
