Xiaomi already has one of its smartphones with Android 12

Xiaomi continues to walk a commendable path when it comes to updates for its smartphones. For those who still doubted that fact, we now know that the Xiaomi Mi 11 is already running a trial version of Android 12.

The news is spread through various sources connected to the branch, namely the renowned Kacper Skrzypeck. Reports that show that the top of the range presented in December 2020 is already running the new version of Google’s operating system.

Xiaomi Mi 11 is already running the beta version of Android 12

The new Android 12 will come to Xiaomi Mi 11 through the MIUI 12.5 beta channel. This is an update limited to China and MIUI test program programmers and participants in that country.

This is a test build and is of course marked by software instability. By the way, this is something you notice early in the installation process of this test build, which takes longer than usual to complete.

The data referring to this update leaves no doubt as to its purpose. It is described as an update to the Android version, with a download size of 4.2 GB.

Early reports from beta program participants point to performance issues and above-normal smartphone heat. Some apps are not yet properly optimized for this. firmware and the absence of Google services makes it unfeasible for western markets.

So we can say that markets outside of China don’t lose much by not being in the Android 12 test program yet. This is something that will eventually happen, possibly after Google announces the final version of its operating system.
