Xiaomi: after the scooter, here comes a smartphone in partnership with Mercedes

For those who watch Formula 1, you know that Lewis Hamilton has a habit of strolling through the paddock on a scooter. And it’s not just any scooter. It is a Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 in special edition Mercedes-AMG F1 Team.

It hit the market with the same features as the Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2, but with a design in the iconic colors of the Formula 1 world champion team. Xiaomi will now repeat the feat with a smartphone.

Redmi K50 will have a special edition Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1

Through the Weibo social network, Xiaomi revealed that it will launch a special edition of the Redmi K50. As can be seen in the shared image, it will have a Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 design.

Silver predominates, and green tones in the areas where there seem to be RGB lights. If on the left side of the rear we see the camera module, on the right side there is space for the Formula 1 team logo.

Redmi K50 Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Edition expected with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

This smartphone should arrive with features similar to the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. This means that it should be powered by Qualcomm’s Snadpragon 8 Gen 1 processor.

It is still waiting with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution and high refresh rate. It will feature stereo speakers developed in partnership with JBL. In addition to a 4700 mAh battery, 120 W charging is still expected.

It will be interesting to see if this smartphone will have global launch honors in the coming months. This was the case with the scooter, officially sold in Portugal. But since the K50 lineup will be exclusive to China, it will have to be under the control of Xiaomi or the Poco sub-brand.
