Real Madrid’s captain, Dani Carvajal, had some kind words for Xabi Alonso, the team’s future coach. Carvajal remembered Alonso’s strong performances as a player for the club, but he didn’t say much about the team’s future.
Alonso had two great seasons with Bayer Leverkusen. Carvajal thinks he’ll do well at Real Madrid because he knows the club so well. Alonso played for the team for many years and knows what it means to be a Real Madrid player. This experience will help him as a coach.
Only time will tell if Alonso is the right person to change the team’s direction. They haven’t won any big titles yet. In football, results usually decide the future of coaches and players.
Carvajal also thanked Carlo Ancelotti, who is leaving the team to coach Brazil.
He said, “I’m very sad to see Carlo go. He’s been like a father to me in football. We won everything with him.”
Although it’s not official yet, Alonso will replace Ancelotti as Real Madrid’s coach after the last LaLiga game, before the Club World Cup.
