The first batch of the team selected for the World Test Championship has left and then the second batch will follow. Meanwhile, the final match of IPL 2023 will be played on May 28, it is said that the next day i.e. May 29, the remaining players will also leave for England. But in the meantime, the India team has suffered a major setback. The India team will not have a chance to prepare properly for the 2023 WTC Finals, which may be a matter of concern for the players.

Team India’s practice match ahead of crisis-marred WTC final

The WTC final will be played between India and Australia at The Oval in England from June 7. For this, Team India had scheduled a practice match to be played, so that the T20 players could adapt to the Test format. But now it is known that the Indian team will not be able to play any practice matches. Players leaving for England on May 29 will arrive there on the 30th and meet up on June 1. Between June 1 and June 7, there will not be enough time for the team to play practice games for at least a few days. BCCI’s plan was to have the chance to play a three-day game against a county team before the grand final. But now it seems that the Indian team will prepare by playing intra-team matches by forming different teams with each other.

Suddenly you will have to drop from T20 to play in Test

Anyway, almost all the players in Team India have been playing T20 cricket for the past two months, it will not be easy to prepare them for the Test all at once. On the other hand, if we talk about the Australian team, then only some of their players are playing in the IPL, the rest of the players are completing their preparation by coming to England and playing with one or another county team. Cheteshwar Pujara is the only batsman from India team who is unselected in IPL, after that he is playing straight from county team and good performance is seen with his bat as well. It remains to be seen if BCCI will be able to organize a practice match in the next few days or will simply go to the final.
India Team for WTC Finals: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, KS Bharat (goalkeeper), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Akshar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mo. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Ishan Kishan.
