Wriddhiman and the Bengal Cricket Association came to the fore, they did not say Eden Gardens as their home ground

The sour between Wriddhiman Saha and the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) is not hidden from anyone. Indian batsman Wriddhiman Saha, who has played cricket for Bengal for a long time, has now refused to consider Kolkata’s Eden Gardens as his playing ground. He has described the Biker Stadium in Gujarat as his stadium. The goalkeeper, who represents the Gujarat Titans in the IPL, scored a century on his debut in the Ranji match in 2007.

Ahead of IPL 2022 Qualifier-1, Saha said that his new stadium is not Eden Gardens in Kolkata, but rather Biker Stadium in Gujarat. Saha played Ranji’s debut match in 2007 for Bengal at this ground. Saha also scored a century in this match. But due to a dispute with the CAB officials for some time, he decided not to represent Bengal.

After a CAB official questioned Saha’s role in the Bengal Ranji team, he decided to leave Bengal in domestic cricket. According to media reports, Saha is upset that CAB Deputy Secretary Devvrat Das questioned his commitment after he walked off the Ranji League stage. However, without Saha’s consent, he was selected in the state team for the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal match against Jharkhand. Saha believes that the state union has not supported him during his difficult times. He verbally demanded CAB NOC to leave Bengal.

In the virtual press conference before the IPL Season 15 playoff games, Saha said: ‘I represent Gujarat here, so my home ground is Biker Stadium. I am no longer with Kolkata Knight Riders, so Eden is not my homeland. Saha has performed brilliantly in IPL 2022. The Gujarat Titans opener has scored 312 runs with the help of three half centuries.

Not being selected in the Test Match against England, Saha said that for me, the team always comes first and the individual performance second. I am not thinking about the selection in the Indian team because we have come here to play the qualifying match. All our focus is on this match. My main goal has always been to contribute to hitting and groundkeeping. A personal achievement like half a century or a century is like a bonus.
