Women’s Premier League 2025: Preparations Underway
The third edition of the Women’s Premier League is set to begin on February 6 or 7, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) finalizing the venues for the tournament. According to reports, Lucknow and Baroda have been chosen as the host cities, with the latter likely to host the final match.
Venue Selection and Facilities
BCCI officials have reportedly held discussions with the Baroda Cricket Association and Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, with an official announcement expected soon. Baroda’s Koutambi Stadium has undergone significant upgrades, making it a world-class facility. The stadium recently hosted a match between the women’s teams of India and West Indies, as well as Vijay Hazare Trophy matches.
Team Updates: Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur is currently recovering from an injury and has not returned to the field. She did not participate in the recent India-West Indies series and is currently working on her fitness at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. While it is expected that Kaur will recover in time for the Women’s Premier League, no official confirmation has been made.
