The Spaniard Álvaro Bautista, with Ducati, won again this Sunday in the second WorldSBK race of the weekend at El Villicum de San Juan, within the framework of the tenth and penultimate date of the specialty championship of the World Superbike motorcycling , in which Argentines Leandro Mercado, with Honda, and Marco Solorza, with Kawasaki, finished in 20th and 22nd place, respectively.
The Cordovan from Jesús María, Leandro “Tati” Mercado, with the Honda of the MIE Racing team, could not advance and be the protagonist in San Juan, as well as the Rio Negro from Cinco Saltos, Marco Solorza, with the Kawasaki of the TPR Team Pedernice , which did not have a very competitive bike.
The lights went out and in the first meters Jonathan Rea took the lead and one corner later Michael Ruben Rinaldi moved into second, while poleman Toprak Razgatlioglu dropped to fifth place. Later, Rea entered last in the intermediate sector of the circuit and dropped to sixth place.
On the fifth lap, Álvaro Bautista, who had not had a good start, recovered from his teammate, Michael Rinaldi, to take the lead of the competition.
Later, the duel for the victory between Bautista and Razgatlioglu began. “El Turco” turned faster in some laps, but then the Ducati rider responded to the times and stretched the difference.
At a great pace, Bautista had no rivals in the final part and was able to achieve a solid victory that brings him closer to the title. Razgatlioglu finished second and the podium was completed by Rea. Lowes was fourth, Rinaldi fifth, while Tati Mercado finished 20th and Marco Solorza saw the checkered flag in 22nd place.
In this way, the championship is led by Álvaro Bautista with an advantage of 82 points over Razgatlioglu and 98 ahead of Rea.
On the weekend of November 11, 12 and 13, the next WorldSBK date will take place, in Indonesia, which will be the penultimate of the 2022 season.
