Reigning champions T1 suffered a decisive upset loss to CTBC Flying Oyster from the League of Legends Championship Pacific on Thursday, marking a surprising start to their Worlds 2025 campaign. The defeat saw the heavily favored T1 team overwhelmed in their Best-of-1 match.
CTBC Flying Oyster’s Attack Damage Carry, Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-chuan, played a pivotal role in the victory. Using the champion Draven, Doggo finished the game with six kills, zero deaths, and 12 assists. This impressive individual performance underscored the LCP team’s dominant showing.
The unexpected outcome puts T1, led by star player Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, in an early challenging position as they aim to defend their global title.
The win contributed to CTBC Flying Oyster’s strong start at the tournament. The team’s social media account noted a “2-0 start” following their triumph.
