World Organization reopens the Ramón Pina Acevedo gym

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) reopened and fully equipped the legendary doctor Ramón Pina Acevedo gym, located in the populous Ensanche Ozama sector.

Francisco-Paco-Valcárcel, president of the Puerto Rico-based boxing entity, together with the Mayor of the Santo Domingo province, Manuel Jiménez, Georgie Herrera, local representative of the WBO and the Vice Minister of the Presidency Alberto Rodríguez, led the act of delivery.

The opening ceremony began with the singing of the song to the homeland, followed by Kid Can, who was in charge of the welcoming words, while Herrera highlighted the investment made by the WBO in the sports facility and also the support provided by the Mayor Manuel Jimenez.

On his side, Paco Valcárcel, when speaking, said “the people who support boxing must support it, that’s why I want to give these gloves to Mayor Manuel Jiménez in recognition of his great work in the Santo Domingo Este Municipality,” he said. .

Likewise, Jiménez thanked the contribution made by the WBO to the boxing club of his municipality. “We value the contribution made to an entity that bears the name of Ramón Pina Acevedo, a Dominican who deserves eternal recognition from each one of us who knew him in life,” Jiménez expressed verbatim.

Also participating in the event were Horacio B. Rodríguez, Francisco Benzán, Yoel Adames, Rafael Isenia, Juan Baez and former boxers Julio César Green, Julio Soto Solano and Freddy-El Italo-Cruz, among other well-known figures in the art of contention. with fists.
