It’s a bittersweet moment for fans of the social deduction game Deceit. The original game, which has offered spooky fun for years, will soon shut its doors. Developers say this tough choice is all about making Deceit 2 the best it can be. They want to pour all their time and energy into the new game.
World Makers, the studio behind Deceit, made the announcement on July 25th. They shared the news on their Steam store page. Mark your calendars: Deceit Part 1 will officially close on November 6th. This move frees up all their people and tools for Deceit Part 2.

The team at World Makers explained their reasons. They’ve worked hard to keep the first Deceit running smoothly. But the game’s technology is quite old now. This makes it harder to update and protect. They also face more risks from online attacks like DDoS and increasing cheating. Fixing these problems in the old game is very tough.
But players shouldn’t worry about losing what they loved. World Makers isn’t throwing out the old ideas. Deceit Part 2 will include a ‘Legacy’ mode. This mode brings back the gameplay and features from the first game. It means old fans will find familiar fun. Plus, this new version will be much easier to improve and update in the future.
To help with the transition, Deceit Part 1 no longer allows new in-game purchases. The development team has also shared a heartfelt thank you. They are grateful for all the support players have given them over the years. They hope this support will continue as everyone moves on to Deceit Part 2.
