World Cup Qatar 2022: the stadium of the "containers" received his last match and will be disassembled

Stadium 974 of the Qatar 2022 World Cupknown as the “containers”, received his last match with Brazil-South Korea today of the round of 16 and soon it will be disassembled.

The steel structure of the roof can also be recycled and be reused after disassembly.

When it’s all moved, just there will be an artificial lake in the shape of a soccer field to remember that the World Cup was played there.

The stadium was called 974 because of the Qatar telephone code and because that amount of shipping containers were used for its construction.

The detail of the containers used as “Lego” style building blocks is thought as a tribute to the port and industrial zone in which the stadium is located.
