World Cup Qatar 2022: FIFA opened a file against Uruguay

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee opened a file against the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF), as well as four celestial players, for the “incidents” that occurred at the end of the match against Ghana, which meant the elimination of the team led by Diego Alonso despite to win 2-0.

As reported by FIFA on Monday, the file is for possible violations of articles 11 (Offensive behavior and violation of the principles of fair play), 12 (Improper conduct of players and officials) and 13 (Discrimination) of the Disciplinary Code.

While the footballers involved are José María Giménez, Edinson Cavani, Fernando Muslera and Diego Godín, for possible violations of articles 11 and 12.

The Uruguayan players angrily protested their disgust at the actions of the German referee Daniel Siebert and the VAR, to which they protested vehemently. Giménez even pushed a FIFA official and Cavani hit the VAR booth, which fell to the ground, while he went to the locker room.

Uruguay, which had already complained about the decisions suffered in the match against Portugal and was admitted by FIFA for a badly taken penalty in that match, was also very upset by the refereeing in Ghana. After all, he was left out on goal difference and the one who went through was South Korea.
