Wooden Bentley Continental GT Replica Sells for $98,900

Luxury car fans can show their passion in unexpected ways. Take, for example, a Bentley Continental GT replica, built entirely from wood. This full-size, handmade model, though lacking an engine, recently sold for nearly $100,000. It’s an unusual piece that certainly turned heads.

The talented creator of this wooden masterpiece remains unknown. We only know they hail from Belgium. This unique art piece, however, made its way to the United States for exhibition. It is a full-scale Bentley Continental GT, crafted entirely from wood, both inside and out.

The builder spent over 3000 hours on this project. They carefully assembled thousands of pieces of teak and marine-grade plywood. These parts were built atop two wooden beams that serve as the car’s chassis. The design takes cues from the third generation Continental GT. This model was first released in 2017 and was produced until 2024, according to Carscoops.

A Wooden Bentley, Built with Care

The attention to detail is remarkable, even in wood. The large front grille stands out, along with the bumper intakes. You can also spot the exhaust outlets. Frames around the oval headlights and taillights feature a darker finish. This darker wood creates a nice contrast with the rest of the body.

While some angles show slight differences in proportion, many small details impress. For instance, the three-dimensional emblems on the car are quite striking.

Inside the cabin, the craftsmanship continues. The wooden seats are flatter and less sculpted than those in a real Bentley. Yet, the interior mirrors the original car’s layout well. It includes a detailed dashboard, a center console, and door panels.

This wooden model weighs 907 kg. That’s much lighter than a real Continental GT. Despite having no engine, it can still move.

The wooden Bentley was first shown at the Autosport Group showroom in Boca Raton, Florida. It sat among other used luxury cars from the Crewe brand. Later, the dealership put the unique piece up for sale on eBay. The asking price was $98,900. It seems the high price did not deter an enthusiastic buyer, as the car is no longer available.
