Warner unveiled the Wonka trailerthe next film by Timothée Chalamet, after Dune 2 in November. The film, whose release is scheduled for December 13, 2023 in Franceis based on the works of Road Dahl and constitutes a prequel which shows how Willy Wonka met the Oompa-Loompas.
“The film is based on the characters of Roald Dahl, inspired in particular by one of Dahl’s most beloved characters, Willy Wonka, and is set before the events of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
The film notably features HughGrant, Rowan Atkinson, Matthew Baynton, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, Tom Davis, Simon Farnaby, Rich Fulcher, Sally Hawkins, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Paterson Joseph, Keegan-Michael Key, Calah Lane, Matt Lucas, Colin O’Brien, Natasha Rothwell, Rakhee Thakrar, and Ellie White.
Wonka is directed by Paul King (Paddington, The Mighty Boosh), nominated for the BAFTAs, who co-wrote the screenplay with Simon Farnaby.
