Women’s volleyball debuts successfully at the Valledupar Games

Natalia Martínez and Madeline Guillen led a powerful offense as the Dominican Republic defeated Venezuela 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-13) to kick off the 2022 Valledupar Bolivarian Games women’s volleyball tournament.

While Guillén stood out as the main attacker in the first set, it was Martínez in the second who dominated with her powerful serves and spikes.

Venezuela took an early lead in the third set only to see the Dominicans return behind spikes down the middle from middle blockers Estefany Rabit and Alondra Tapia.

In the other match of the first day, Colombia blanked Bolivia 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-9).
