Women’s U-13 team, bronze in Pan American Table Tennis

The U13 women’s representation won the bronze medal in the team competitions of the Pan American Table Tennis Championship that is held in the Pavilion of that discipline and that has a dedication to the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader.

The Dominican team, made up of Dafne Sosa, Yesmeily Guerrero and Edwanny de la Cruz, ranked third in the specialty after losing 1 set to 3 in the semifinal against Team B from the United States.

In the quarterfinals, the Dominican women’s team A beat their similar team from Colombia 3-1, while the men’s team A fell 2-3 to the Colombian team in their attempt to advance to the dispute for the medals.

In other results, in the men’s U-13, Puerto Rico won 3-0 against Brazil, in the semifinal, and will clash with Colombia, which beat Ecuador 3-1.

In the women’s U-11, United States B beat Ecuador 3-0, and will face the United States A team in the final, which dispatched Guatemala 3-2, while in the men’s, Ecuador beat Peru 3-0 and will face United States A, who beat United States B 3-0.

The Pan American Championship, which will continue this Thursday in singles and doubles competitions, has the support of the Ministry of Sports, Claro, Creso, Banreservas, Raise, ITTF, OMSA, Super Mercado Central and the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD).

The individual champions in both branches in the U-11 category will obtain the right to participate in the “Hopes” camp (of future stars), while the winners in U-13 will receive training scholarships in Specialized Centers.

The tournament is held in coordination with ITTF Americas with the participation of more than 225 athletes from 17 countries of the continent.
