Some great news has come out about the women’s IPL. Actually, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing to host a six-team women’s IPL from next year. At the IPL Governing Council meeting in Mumbai on Friday, it was decided to make efforts to organize a 6-team women’s IPL from 2023.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said: “The AGM has given its approval. We hope to start from next year.” Significantly, there was pressure on BCCI to start IPL of women for a long time. The West Indies and Pakistan have already talked about organizing the women’s national T20 league. Since then pressure has mounted on BCCI to start the women’s IPL.
