Women on Tables International Theater Festival starts this Friday

The International Theater Festival Mujeres Sobre las Tablas 2021, an event that highlights female talent in the theater, begins its sixth edition, this Friday 19 and will run until November 27.

This theatrical party organized by the Absoluto Teatro Foundation, under the general direction of the playwright, actress and theater director Elizabeth Ovalle; will have Spain as a guest country, and whose rooms will have the due protocol and health distancing.

A total of 12 professional groups will present themselves with more than 20 performances in scenes, for all the enjoyment of the public, with works of exquisite content and entertainment, which will make them laugh and reflect.

As is already a tradition, this festival is presented within the framework of the events of the International Day of Non-Violence against Women, November 25, whose main objectives are: to encourage the presentations of works against gender violence and to make the works visible theatrical performances by women, to promote dramatic content, written, edited, produced, acted or directed by women.

"Worldwide, women have been fulfilling their role as creators, from where they raise their voices to give value to their work in staging. The festival does not exclude the participation of men, it is not about competing, but about unifying, making visible and supporting each other, having as a major component and emphasizing the work of women in theater" Ovalle stated.

The works to be presented will have an offer price of $ 500.00, general public and 300 pesos, students with a card. The interesting montage will be presented, from Spain: Fantasmas de aguas, on November 19, at 10:00 in the morning, 8:30 at night (opening ceremony) and Saturday 20, at 8:30 at night , in the Sala Ravelo of the National Theater. The festival closes with the play: Hágase la mujer, by Teatro Guloya, on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 (festival closing) 8:30 pm in the Ravelo room of the National Theater.
