Women care more about training in financial education

The training in financial culture to acquire the saving habitachieving good credit card management and obtaining basic concepts to start a business are the three educational topics preferred by users of the Finance with a Purpose Academy (www.finanzasconproposito.edu.do), a digital initiative of Banco Popular Dominicano to contribute to the extension of financial education in the country.

These categories accumulate the 74% of registrations on the financial education platformwhich reaches 77,600 visits since its launch in November 2022 and 2,284 people registered in the different courses, according to the bank.

In total, they have issued 345 course completion certificates. Of these, 106 belong to credit cards and 102 to savings, while 57 correspond to business finance; 49 for entrepreneurship; 19 for health and wellness and 12 for budgeting education.

According to the data registered in the platform of the Academy of Finance with a Purpose, It is women who are most concerned about training in financial education issues. They lead with 62.3% compared to 37.7% of men registered in the course catalog.

Economic and Financial Week
The Finance with Purpose Academy of Banco Popular participated with courses for children and adolescents in the Economic and Financial Week of the Central Bank, an activity that is part of Global Money Week to promote financial education in minors in 176 countries in the world.

Improvement of indicators
As part of its commitment to the financial education of society, in addition to this digital proposal of the Finance with Purpose Academy, Banco Popular complements its financial training proposal with talks and educational workshops, which during 2021 reached 11,489 people.
