The rise of women in public positions in the Dominican Republic it has been evident in recent years. Nowadays represent more than half of the staff who works in the government sector.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP)As of November 2021, women working in the public sector reached 64.63% and men 36.37%.

On pay scales women represent 36.08% of employees who earn less than RD $ 10,000, 59.13% of those who earn between RD $ 10,000 and RD $ 19,000, 47.60% of those who earn between RD $ 20,000 and RD $ 29,000 andl 71.93% of those who charge between RD $ 30,000 and RD $ 39,000.
MAP data shows that women are more than a third (79.22%) of public employees with salaries between RD $ 40,000 and RD $ 49,000 and they are located in 61.33% of those who obtain between RD $ 50,000 and RD $ 99,000 as salary.

As of November 2021, in the public sector 664,132 jobs were registered in the Dominican Social Security System, 2.14% more than in 2020 the Single Information, Collection and Payment System (SUIR) of the Social Security Treasury had registered .
