The Wolverhampton Wanderers have found their man. After Nélson Semedo’s departure, the club needed to fill a vital spot at right-back. On Tuesday, Wolves announced a deal for Jackson Tchatchoua. The 23-year-old Cameroonian international is joining the team coached by Portugal’s Vítor Pereira. He signed a five-season contract, with an option for an extra year.

Tchatchoua arrives from Verona, but his journey started in Belgium, where he was born. He began his professional career at Charleroi. In the 2023-24 season, he went on loan to Verona. He clearly made a strong impression there. The Italian club decided to buy him permanently after his loan spell.

Football is always moving, and so are players. After just one season where he scored two goals and provided three assists for Verona, Tchatchoua was on the move again. Wolverhampton stepped up, paying around 12 million euros to bring him to England. This move directly addresses the gap left by Semedo. The Portuguese defender left Wolves as a free agent, heading to Fenerbahçe to play under José Mourinho.

Despite being born in Belgium, Tchatchoua proudly represents Cameroon on the international stage. He has already played for the national team ten times. His debut for the Indomitable Lions came recently, in June 2024. He stepped onto the pitch against Cape Verde during a qualifier for the 2026 World Cup. Now, he’s ready to bring that international experience to Molineux.
