The rumor mill is buzzing louder than a packed stadium on match day, and Wolfsburg’s director, Peter Christiansen, just dropped a big hint. He spoke out on Wednesday about Amoura, the forward Benfica has been chasing hard in this transfer window. Christiansen made it clear: Amoura will only pack his bags if the price is right.
Christiansen told the ‘Wolfsburger Allgemeine’ newspaper that the transfer market is a wild place. “Anything can happen,” he said. But he was quick to add that this unpredictable nature isn’t just about Amoura. It applies to all players in such a busy period.
The director then laid out Wolfsburg’s strategy for their star player. “Amoura will only leave if the price is fair,” Christiansen stressed. He explained that any sale would only happen if the team leaders were sure. They must believe they still have enough firepower to hurt opponents, even without Amoura. “We do not want to start the new season weaker,” he declared firmly.
Meanwhile, sources close to the situation, as reported by ‘Record’ newspaper, say that Amoura is quite keen on the idea of joining Benfica. There’s real interest from the player’s side. Wolfsburg first aimed high, suggesting a transfer fee of 40 million euros. However, the German club has since shown willingness to talk, now open to negotiating a deal closer to 35 million euros.
